In a new five-part series, renowned Swiss architect Peter Märkli discusses his love of architecture with contemporaries Lütjens Padmanabhan, MOS Architects, Momoyo Kaijima & Adam Jasper
Introducing Die Liebe zur Architektur (For the Love of Architecture), a series of five online talks curated by the Swiss architect Peter Märkli. The series is bookended by two talks that Peter Märkli has recorded in German with English subtitles. The first, Mein Stoff für Fassaden (My Facade Material) deals with his approach to the design of facades, with particular reference to his use of proportional systems. The second, Projekte in Arbeit (Work in Progress), focuses on recent work developed by his office including the refurbishment and expansion of Bahnhofstrasse 3, Zurich.
In between these lectures, there will be three contributions from other speakers, who Peter Märkli has invited to participate in the series; Oliver Lütjens and Thomas Padmanabhan of Zurich-based Lütjens Padmanabhan with MOS Architects, Momoyo Kaijima, co-founder of Atelier Bow-Wow and Adam Jasper, editor of gta papers. The series is supported by Pro Helvetia and the Swiss Cultural Fund in the UK.

Momoyo Kaijima, a former student of Peter Märkli's, discusses the work of her practice Atelier Bow-Wow. The lecture is given in Japanese with English subtitles and translated by Jason James, Director General of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation.
Lütjens Padmanabhan in conversation with MOS Architects
Oliver Lütjens and Thomas Padmanabhan of Zurich-based Lütjens Padmanabhan will discuss the exchange of architectural ideas between Europe and America with Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample of the New-York based MOS Architects.
