This is 2D version of the model in the previous post.

When you insert numbers in the Component Options window, you can change the number of copies of circles and the spacing between the circles. 

콤포넌트 옵션 윈도우에 적당한 숫자를 입력하면 복사되는 원의 개수나 간격을 조정할 수 있습니다.

But don't insert too large number in the 'number of copies of circles' blank. For instance number 35 will take 5 minutes or more to configure.

그런데 너무큰 숫자를 입력하지 않는 것이 좋습니다.

일반적인 경우 복사 개수에 35만 입력해도 5분 이상 걸릴 수 있습니다.

Transformation of single object(sphere) by DC of SketchUp

In this post you can see another possibility of Dynamic Components of SketchUp.

As Dynamic Component supports only transformation in length(3 directional),

we need much imagination to transform objects with DC as the way we want.

In case of transformation of sphere, this post will help you.

Left below you can see the original sphere@@

and transformation of this sphere along with each axis.

Actually this is not a transformation of 'single' object.

As you see below each sphere consists of 8 pieces :0

The idea is very simple.

Set the formulas of  lengths of 4 pieces of sphere in each direction to be same
along with the axis where they are placed.

For example 4 pieces of + X direction(red axis) should have same LenX each, and the other 4 pieces of -X direction also have another same LenX each, and so on...

The only(big) problem is that this method is only applicable to sphere (yet), not to everything else ;(

Regular but deformed surface using dynamic component + loft by splines plugin 에서 사용한 수식을 약간만 손봐서 원형의 변화있는 볼륨을 만들었다. 스크린샷에서 보듯이 원래의 수식은 거의 그대로이고(더욱 변화 있는 굴곡을 위해서 상수 몇개를 손보기는 했다) 직선으로 배열하던 수식을 원형배열을 하는 수식으로 교체해서 위로 올라가면서 변화하는 형태를 완성. 

자 상상력을 조금만 더 발휘해보자..

정확한 규칙에 따라 일률적으로 반복되는 패턴에서 벗어난 걸 모델링해봤다.

전체적으로는 반복되는 패턴이지만 부분의 변화는 훨씬 다양해졌다.

X 축방향으로 높이의 변화와 폭의 변화를 주었는데 이게 다시 Y축방향으로 움직이면서 다른 규칙으로 변화를 하게 되면서 지금까지 해왔던 정형화된 변화 패턴에서 벗어난 걸 알 수 있다. 아직 갈 길이 멀지만 그래도 다시 한걸음을 나갔다.

패턴을 만드는 규칙에 대한 표현방법들을 나름대로 정리해나가고 있 는 느낌이다.

SketchUcation Forum에는 좀더 자세히 올리긴 했는데

시간도 없고 블로그에는 이정도로 마무리해야겠다.

글 하나 올리기도 벅차다.

Twin Tree Buildings in Seoul by BCHOARCHITECTS

The buildings are still under construction.
They are located just in front of the south-east corner
of Gyeongbokgung, the old dynasty's palace.

볼일이 생겨 오랜만에 가게된 경복궁 동네에 눈에 띄는 건물이 새로 지어지고 있었다.
한국일보 사옥을 헐고서 지어지는 트윈 트리 Twin Tree 라는 이름의 빌딩 둘이었는데 말그대로 서로 꼭 닮은 쌍둥이 빌딩이었다.
자칫 병풍처럼 경복궁 앞의 경관을 막아서게 될 수도 있었을 민감한 자리에 적절한 건축적 수법을 동원해서 실제로는 크지만 크지 않게 느껴지도록 잘 설계됐다는 느낌이 들었다. 전체 볼륨을 곡면으로 분절시키는 수법으로 밋밋하지도 않지만 그렇다고 과하지도 않을 정도로 적당한 선에서 건축적으로 잘 해결한 느낌.
저녁무렵이라 그런지 유리색은 좀 어두운감이 있어보이는데, 워낙 맑은 유리를 좋아하다보니 더 그렇게 보이려나.
우리나라에서는 좀처럼 쓰지 않는 플랫슬라브(flat slab)로 공사를 했고 기둥은 원형인데 종이 거푸집으로 시공했다는 걸 검색을 통해 알게 됐다.

어디서 설계했는지 궁금해서 찾아보니 조병수건축연구소(BCHOARCHITECTS)의 작품.
여기저기 찾다보니 이런 기사도.."트윈 트리 프로젝트는 600년 도읍인 서울의 심장부에서 서울의 역사를 떠받치는 듯한 거대한 박달나무 둥치를 통해 광화문을 상징적으로 형상화 하였다. 나무 둥치는 가장 아래에서 큰 나무를 받치는 기둥으로서 역사적 안정성에 대한 확신을 심어준다."

좀 웃기게 들리기는 말이긴 하지만 건축물 자체가 보여주는 바가 있으니 뭐라고 설명하든지 별로 중요해 보이지 않는다.


조병수건축연구소 홈페이지 가보니 시공사진도 있고 도면도 있으니 참고할만하다.

The Daily CatchUp

Sketchucation Forum에 올린 글이 The Daily CatchUp 에 소개됐다.
마지막으로 글을 올렸던게 추석 일주일 전쯤인가 되는데
그 뒤로 여러가지 사정으로 관련 작업도 더 진행하지 못하고
당연히 관련 포스트도 더 이상 올리지 못하고 있는 상태인데
갑자기 The Daily CatchUp에서 메일이 날아와서는 새 쪽지가 와있으니 확인하란다.
쪽지를 확인해보니 이렇다.
